You will feel more confident and have more self-esteem because you know you’re looking great! Research has proven that people with great smiles are perceived to be younger, more dynamic, healthier, and are more successful than those people with aging smiles. In a recent survey of American adults, 74% of respondents believed that an unattractive smile could hurt a person’s chances for career success.
Preventative care is crucial to maintaining a healthy and functional smile. We recommend a professional cleaning and dental exam every six months to ensure lasting gum and tooth health. Practicing good homecare with brushing with a soft bristle brush and a fluoride containing toothpaste at least twice a day as well as regular flossing are important steps you can take on your own between visits to maintain your healthy smile.
Teeth stains are inevitable due to our consumption of a variety of foods and drinks (soda, spicy food, coffee, etc.). However, advanced teeth whitening technology has enabled dentists to whiten teeth without adversely affecting the tooth structure. Almost all whitening methods are similar in concept, but some are much more effective because of the way the whitening material is delivered to the teeth.
TMJ stands for temporal-mandibular joint. Temporal, as in temple area of skull; mandibular as in mandible, or lower jaw; joint as in it's where the head and jaw meet. Problems in this joint may be caused by a misalignment of the teeth, trauma, or excess muscle tension.Aside from the two bones that meet there, cartilage buffers them and five muscles are involved in the area. If something goes wrong a good deal of trouble can result.
