Bridges
If you are missing one or more teeth, we can design a natural-looking dental bridge to fill in the space and give you back a full smile. A dental bridge is a set of false teeth that attach to your natural teeth on either side of the gap. Made of natural, tooth-colored materials, a dental bridge looks and feels like real teeth. Cosmetic bridges are used to fill in a missing or badly decayed tooth by “bridging” the gap of the surrounding teeth. Also, fixed bridges function like real teeth, so they never need to be removed like dentures do. The pontic (the false tooth or teeth that fill in the missing space) returns the look of your teeth to its former glory so you can once again enjoy all the benefits of a full smile!
When we place a bridge, a single appliance is attached to two teeth on each side of the space where a tooth is missing. An artificial tooth attached in the middle of the bridge fills in the gap. Sometimes the teeth on either side of the gap are prepared for crowns, and the bridge is cemented onto the prepared surface of the teeth, creating the appearance of a “new” tooth.
